Take Vacation Pictures to Remember

We go on vacations to relax and have fun, but we like to think back and remember our vacations too. Here are a couple tips for taking pictures that will keep the memories alive.

You work hard fifty weeks out of the year to provide not only for yourself, but your family, and the future.  When the need to recharge hits we go on vacation.  It’s true some people just sit at home and do more work, but this article is for those who recharge by going out and seeing new things, enjoying new places with friends and family.  If you’re like me, you want to capture some of the memories you’ll be creating so you can share them with other friends and family when you get back, and so you can look back and bring to memory the fun you had and the things you saw.  Here are some tips to get pictures that will do just that.

Where did you go?

The first photo you want to take is one that will immediately identify where you went for your vacation.

Start the trip down memory lane with the sure knowledge that you know the location of where you took the photo and the vacation.  If you can take a picture that identifies where you went and also one or some of the things you did on vacation, all the better.

If you went to an amusement park, did you share any great rides with your loved ones?  Take a picture so you both can look back and remember.

Did you try some new and unusual food while you were there?  Snap a picture of it to bring the memory of the flavor and the fun back to you when you get home.

Did you share an intimate meal with someone in a special place?

Hold hands as you walked through a sea of birds?  Catch it in a photograph.

Take time out and look at the history of where you are.  Perhaps it is something that affects your daily life and you never really thought about it before.  Record the moment of your realization.  Does photography and film play a central role in your life?  Capture a photograph showing that it is the same for others.

Perhaps you have small children.  Make sure to record some memories for them as well.

When they are older they will thank you, and go on to sure the same kinds of things with their children.  Maybe it’s a storybook character.  Capture it in such a way that for moment you, like your child, can suspend your disbelief and enjoy.  Here an aquatic character has been captured and the stone appears as though it was a rolling wave of water through which you see him.

Or better yet, did you and your children discover some strange new world with living things you’ve never seen before like this cuttlefish?

Or shared an amazing animal show.

Or perhaps you have no children, or your children are grown, and you’re sharing a trip with a friend.  Snap a shot of that cool place you shared a coffee and discussed the latest news.

No matter where you go or what you do for relaxation don’t forget to snap a few of the crew you took with you.

And above all else…for goodness sake put down the camera occasionally and share in the fun!
