I need a vacation!
I went to the pyramids in Mexico and got to climb to the top. Chichen Itza, near Cancun. Climbing the pyramid is no longer permitted however, in 2004(???) a San Diego woman fell and tumbled down the 90-something stone steps and died from her injuries…
The steps are narrow, and very steep. You could walk up the steps facing forward… but coming down you have to step ’sideways.’ It is said by the locals that this is so that you ‘…never turn your back on your Gods.’

There is one glaring error in this piece: IRELAND IS NOT PART OF THE UK! Northern Ireland is a semi-independant state with it’s own government (the Northern Irish Assembly) which is still considered part of the United Kingdom (contentious issue) but the REPUBLIC OF IRELAND is in no way part of the UK. I’m sorry for being rude, but I hate it when people make that mistake: it’s like saying Canada is part of the USA or New Zealand is part of Australia. We fought long and hard for our independence, I think we deserve to have it respected.

Your text is inviting and makes me want to travel. You also have some very interesting and inspiring friends. I have compassion for you related to the above mentioned over-sight. I feel terrible when I make mistakes. I also feel terrible when I am disrespected. I appreciate the way in which you both (Shari86 and Sam) took care of the above situation. I have been inspired and I have learned in many ways from this text and the comments. Thank You . Elizabeth Abbott
