Are Amusement Park Rides Safe?

What do you think about amusement rides? Do you feel your children are safe on them?

Are amusement park rides safe? It amazes me more children and people aren’t killed on these dangerous rides. It is my opinion, the rides are dangerous from the stand point of the ride itself, as well as, improper maintenance and inspection of these rides. All of the amusement parks are suppose to ensure the public the rides have been inspected and they are safe, but I’ve seen and heard of many of these park rides breaking down on a constant basis. Many of these rides have left our children and other people hanging upside down for hours on end and this is dangerous.

These rides could cause the death of many people at the same time and one day it’s going to happen in the future. It’s my belief, we, as parents, should go to these parks and check their inspection records of all their rides before they are allow to set up in our communities, or better yet, have our county governments ensure these rides have been inspected and are in good working order before they’re granted a permit to have the rides in our counties.

Some of these rides are beyond belief and the shear fact of a group of people being on one of these dangerous rides and something going wrong makes me ill at my stomach. I don’t feel anything is safe to ride that is extremely dangerous to human life. Some of these rides go so fast that it causes people to lose their glasses, false-teeth, loss of wigs, loss of shoes and other articles, etc., and it is my belief, there’s “no” one who can tell me the rides are perfectly safe.

Some of these older private amusement owned rides go up and down our coasts setting up their rickety riding equipment in mall parking lots, fair grounds, and open fields and the equipment is nothing but a heap of junk. This is the reason most of them break down every few minutes. No-one can tell me these are properly inspected rides. Many of these rides should have been pitched in the junk yard years ago and we are allowing our children to ride on them. It will be too late to check for inspections after a terrible tragedy happens and kills many children, teens and adults.

It is my opinion, these type rides should be curtailed to a certain speed and height and be sensible safe rides for all people. When we, our children or anyone for that matter, gets on one of these rides we are taking our lives and our childrens lives into our own hands.

There are people who absolutely loves these rides, but in my opinion, it’s a tragedy waiting to happen.
