Five Exotic Japanese Foods

Have you ever wondered what the five most exotic Japanese dishes are? Look no further than this guide.
-
Pickled Kelp
The gummy texture makes you wonder why it was invented, but some say the smooth flavor and sweet aftertaste are a good delight.
-
Squid Chips
Though the name actually sounds bizarre, it is actually made of ground codfish and dried squid, it is often dipped in rice vinegar and sweet sauce that makes your fingers sticky.
-
Fried Fish Cake
Big Katsu is the commercial name, which means large pork cutlet. The taste reminds me, (and maybe you too) of Worcestershire sauce.
-
Squid Kebab
Good snack for squid lovers, it is marinated in a sweet soy sauce and is very chewy.
-
Pickled Plum
Just looking at it makes most peoples mouths water. Another name for the pickled fruit is Japanese Apricot. There are two types of plum in japan, hard and soft, this one is soft and extremely sour.

Nice bit of info but sorry to say that \”Big Fish Cake\” has nothing to do with pork cutlet. Have you ever heard of Tonkatsu?
Tonkatsu is deep fried pork cutlets served with a sauce that has the flavor of Worcestershire sauce and oster sause. Big Katsu usually refers to tofu or bean cake mixed with any veriety of fish and deep fried hence fried fish cake.
