Alaska- The Land of Everything

Hi and thank you for taking the time to look at this article. I love Alaska because you get to do a bunch of stuff that you would not get to do in the lower 48. At the time I am writing this it is snowing. It has been snowing for a long time now- almost three days! This article will also cover some of the cool things there is to do up here in the winter. (I will also write another article about what things there are to do in the summertime.) If you are traveling to Alaska in the wintertime than this article will cover what there is to do in the winter!

So, enough chit chat, let’s get started!

The first thing there is to do is go to the best ski resort in Alaska. Alyeska! The name of the company is called Alyeska Resort. Alyeska is the Russian name for Alaska. When the United States bought Alaska they renamed it into a more English name for it. So, back to the resort. Alyeska has a whole bunch of stuff to do. There is skiing and riding lessons. You can get one on one lessons or group lessons.  You can get the same for snowboarding lessons. There is also a tramway that takes about four min. to get to the top of the mountain. At the top there is a fancy restaurant, not for skiers, but for people who have nice clothes on and want to eat fancy. There is also a rest stop sort of thing that serves skiers food. Also there are a handful of chairlifts that service different parts of the mountain. There is also a trick to get on the steepest hill on the mountain. North Face. To get there you have to go up the tram and ski down a little until you get to a chairlift about halfway down the mountain. It is called chair six. There is a big sign on the base that says “Spirit of Alyeska.” Get on that chairlift. Warning though, it starts off like a snail then the chair switches wires and goes to a really fast speed.
