My wife and I recently traveled to the Solvang area and decided to sign up for a guided bicycle tour through the wine country.  Santa Barbara Wine Country Cycling Tours, located in Santa Ynez, provided exactly what we were looking for. They outfitted us on two hybrid bicycles, complete with helmets and water bottles and led us away with one of their friendly, knowledgeable tour guides. We pedalled through the wine country along a route that fit our ability (and expectations exactly!). We stopped at an organic lavender farm and a miniature horse farm along the way, though the highlight was definitely the gourmet picnic lunch at a winery in the countryside outside of Los Olivos.  After a wonderful gourmet lunch of salad, baquette, olives, fresh fruit and artisan cheees we enjoyed wine tasting before we headed back to their store. We’ve told many of our friends of the great bike tour and the wonderful tour. We recommend this to anyone looking to experience the wine country and get some exercise at the same time!
