Il Moro: A Restaurant Review

A wonderful Italian dining treat that you’re sure to love!

I love trying new things. I think that’s part of the reason I love living in Los Angeles. I think any large city offers a wide variety of things to do on any given day that you could never be bored or never worry that you’ll run out of new things to experience. It’s funny though in a city so big that you can often find yourself going back to the same places, ordering the same items on a menu, and running into the same people time and time again. Who said that you have to get lost in a big city? You can actually make any new place you go to feel like home filled with people who fall in love with you instantly.

Friday, I went to Il Moro an Italian restaurant in West Los Angeles. Its funny my friend gave me three choices to choose from. I perused the menus and leave it to me to choose the restaurant I’d already been to before.

One thing’s for sure, if you like to be treated with class; it’s a nice place to visit. There’s valet parking out front and as soon as you give the valet your keys, he rushes over to open the door for you. The interior has a dimly lit atmosphere and the waiters and hostesses don black, bright lime green and white if I remember correctly.

Il Moro’s has a menu that offers enough options for those on a budget to be able to benefit from the atmosphere of a nice restaurant without having to spend a fortune if your wallet prefers not too. From wonderful soups, seafood plates and main dishes, there was plenty to choose from. I grew up with someone who was allergic to scallops so I think up until that night I’d only had scallops about three times in my life. The Grilled jumbo sea scallops salad with avocados, walnuts, tomatoes in a mild lemon dressing hit the spot for me. It was actually an appetizer, but they were so kind to make it into a dinner entrée just for me.

My friend and I decided to sit outside which was a great choice. The interior of the restaurant was wonderful, don’t get me wrong, with high ceilings and an elegant décor, however, the outside landscape was lovely. There was a small pond surrounded by beautiful foliage and fountains that provided a constant peaceful background sound while we enjoyed each other’s company and the delicious food. The outside seating also gave us the ability to see the neighboring businesses change beautiful colors as the evening sky fell to sunset and then night fall.

I wished I didn’t live so far away from this restaurant! It sounds heavenly. Do they have any in Pennsylvania?
