San Diego Eats: Blue Water Seafood

A cool find in San Diego on India Street. Fresh fish and other seafood made to order.

Serendipity led me to India Street and this unique seafood market and grill in San Diego. Walking along India many restaurants caught my eye. But the Blue Water Seafood Market and Grill was too cool to bypass.

Inside may best be described as a combination of a deli and a fresh seafood department at a grocery store. Fresh fish and seafood are displayed in two glass cases. From escolar to shrimp, tilapia to oysters, salmon to tuna, red snapper to swordfish, there is plenty of seafood to pick from.

But don’t sit down just yet! Select which seafood you desire, then pick the flavor you want (from five marinades: lemon garlic butter, lemon butter, teriyaki, chipotle, or blackened), then decide whether you want your grilled fish or seafood in salad form, sandwich form, or as a plated entree with side dishes. You can also select from other culinary creations such as grilled fish tacos, soups (clam chowder or cioppino), a sashimi plate, fried calamari, ceviche, fish & chips, etc. Then head up to the cashier, put in your order, and wait for the delightfully fresh and delicious seafood meal that awaits you. Bon appetit!
