Southern California: What a Theater of the Strange

About my time I spent in Southern California.
When I was visiting(living in) Southern California there was a whole new culture there. Not nearly what I was used to in West Texas, that’s for sure. The people, the average, eccentric and bizarre, it was if I do say so myself like an irate circus of strangeness. I didn’t have to go far to find the unusual, I was invited to go to a rave and that was enough.
The people there were nice, there was just too many lights and they felt like flash-bulbs going off in my face. Raves are fascinating things. Enough to give you either plenty to write about for a good while, or a decently vicious headache for your trouble.
Electronic Music pounding away at the eardrums as if you were at an Indian war dance. The strobe lights made the entire scene seem surreal, but nonetheless I had a blast. Observing the people, and dancing like a madman, I felt more energized than you can imagine.
Granted I left the place fairly unsure whether I’d get my hearing back, but I slept great that night and yes I got my hearing back. Later, when I went to Anaheim, I soon discovered the theatre of eccentricities was not confined only to Riverside. There are some very interesting people, a little bit less hollywood than one might think, but interesting nonetheless.
On a side note, There was beautiful scenery everywhere and Southern California is nice at night. I would never live there again. The only thing hollywood about Southern Ca is the outrageous prices, but my experiences there overall, however bizarre were ones to remember.
Thanks for reading.

I’ve never been to California but I’ve always wanted to go. That rave sounded like fun!

Ah, Southern CA…where I was born and grew up. And will never return, short of the Good Lord, requiring it of me. I dislike almost everything about Southern CA….except the scenery, CA is very beauiful, but outside of the beaches, you have to go north to Yosemite, Mammoth Lakes, The Redwoods. See it all, and be sure to pad your bank account, you’ll need every cent of it!
