67 Days of Smiles

Are staycations making you reconsider vacations to the city that has tourists smiling for years? One contest makes it all possible – and it lasts for 67 days!

From Walt Disney World to Universal Orlando, one lucky couple can spend 67 days in the hotspot for many families and tour groups the world over – Orlando, Florida. (Image via Wikipedia)

According to experts, it would take 67 eight-hour days to do it all in Orlando – from seeing artwork to “hitting ‘em up” with your, er, Tigger! To me, that is just a mere staycation, having lived an hour’s reach from the fun-filled region known as Central Florida. Buy anyway, the Orlando tourism bureau is searching for a couple who will vacation for this enormous time period, with itineraries for over 100 attractions offered.

The contest, by the way, is called 67 Days of Smiles.

So how does a couple spend those 67 days with lots to do and see in the theme-park Mecca? First of all, the couple will be provided a two-bedroom condo downtown. Also, the bureau will cover bills to be paid back home, amounting to $20,000, as they go about cavorting with Eeyore (just don’t tell the kid who freaked out at a character breakkie from years ago). Through the course of the trip, the couple would share their trips via blogs and social networking sites.

To apply, turn on your video camera, grab a partner and tape yourselves for at most one minute explaining why you guys want to spend over three months in Orlando, then submit full body and headshot photos of you, and you would be hand-picked. Of course, with all the college duties, work, and proximity I’m not going for it,, thank you.

For those of you entering the contest, good luck to you all!
