Croissan’time French Bakery, Ft. Lauderdale

Croissan’Time French Bakery and Fine Foods is a bakery and market full of beautiful sweets, authentic baguettes, cheeses, picnic meats, wine, and even wild game, seafood, and foie gras. But, of course, do not forget the croissants!

Walking into Croissan’Time for the very first time, I was overwhelmed by the scene. The shop’s rustic village vibe was a lovely surprise, yet the place was as packed as a metro stop. People were lined up along the glass cases, eyeing the delicious sweets on display. Cakes, pastries, and breads teased my taste buds as I pondered where to begin… as the crowd alluded to and my experience attested to, any selection would have been a gustatory success!

On your visit to Croissan’Time, bring your appetite and sweet tooth. Choose from traditional croissants to ones richly-filled with raspberry, strawberry, apple, walnut, almond cream, chocolate, etc. Indulge in other doughy delights such as beignets and brioche.

The cake selection on it’s own is amazing and includes the tourte, a pound cake infused with lemon, vanilla, and orange rum flavours; coffee cake; cheesecake; chocolate grand marnier; black forest; chocolate mouse over chocolate sponge cake; and a variety of cakes with a yellow sponge cake base and creative ingredients inspiring names like Opera, Mocca, Percher Mignon, Tiramisu, to name a few. Fruit pies (apple, pear, or apricot), fruit tarts, ice cream, and sorbet are also available.

After satisfying your cravings for sweets, do not forget to order a few baguettes (maybe one for now and another for later!). Freshly baked, mine was the perfect combination of taste and texture, and somehow, with my first bite, I was transported to a bistro in France. It really was that authentic and good!

Jo, writing4angels, Kate: Thank you for your comments! I really enjoyed this place and hope you can, too, someday. As for you, Kate, I think you are a bit closer to France, hehe, so you have more proximity to these luxurious treats in a truly authentic form : ).
