Swaying palm trees and warm ocean breezes attract visitors to Florida each year. Hundreds of miles of sandy beaches and a sunny climate is what makes Florida one of the leading tourist states in the nation. Also known as the Sunshine State, Florida is known for its sunny days year around, however, it often does rain frequently during the months of April, May, June and September. Among its many attractions are luxurious oceanfront hotels located in cities such as Miami Beach and Key-Biscayne. The Florida Keys, a group of islands that extend about a hundred miles into the sea is another favorite destination for many swimmers and fishers.

Tallahassee is the capital of Florida. And Jacksonville is Florida’s largest city. One of the most popular spots for tourists is South Beach. Other seaside resorts in Florida include Daytona Beach, Fort Lauder dale, Palm Beach and St. Peters burg. In addition, Florida has about 70 state parks and historic memorials. Another place that you might want to visit if you come to Florida is Everglades National Park. It’s the largest subtropical wilderness in the country. Next, Cape Kennedy, near Cocoa Beach, is a major U.S. space and rocket center. The first spacecraft to land men on the moon was launched from the cape. If you are in the Key Largo area, John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is the only underseas park where visitors can see the reef formations by diving underwater or from glass bottom boats. I am not sure if this is still around. I did visit John Pennekamp several years ago. Other places are Disney World, Epcot and MGM in Orlando and Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios. Sea World is a nice place to take your children and Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. In Tampa, you will find a number of African animals, rare birds and plants. And for those who love the thrilling ride of roller coasters, this is the place to visit.

I love Florida as well, I had a couple of “work” travel there and I immediately fell in love with it. I was actually doing work at St. Petes Beach, St. Petersburg, and also Orlando. Many “fond” memories of Florida…..
