La Bonne Crepe, Fort Lauderdale

A yummy, French-inspired restaurant set on the hip street of Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
If you like crepes, stop by La Bonne Crepe if you find yourself in the Fort Lauderdale, Florida area. Nestled along the happening boulevard of Las Olas, this quaint spot has a glorious menu of creative crepes and other French-inspired dishes.
For example, there are 17 guyere cheese options for crepes, six variations with chicken, five styles with scrambled eggs, four versions with seafood, and then there are five divine signature crepes, my favourite being the crepe vegetarienne. Here is a photo of the cheese crepe I had (number 13), complete with guyere cheese, fresh basil, sliced tomato, and marinara sauce. It was divine!

Yet La Bonne Crepe offers much more than crepes. Also on the menu are decedent soups, pate, an escargot casserole, cheeses, seafood dishes, a wide assortment of salads fit for a meal, frog legs, and various entrees with chicken or veal. Here is a photo of the escargot and mushroom casserole my husband enjoyed:

Then, of course, one must at least look at the dessert menu, non? With a selection of many fruit-centric desserts, it was hard to resist! Some of the offerings included bananes melba, fraises et creme glacee (strawberries and ice cream), and crepe suzettes.
I definitely want to return for more!

Unfortunately, I don’t live anywhere near Fort Lauderdale and it would probably take a day and a half to get to the great US of A..but I’m thinking about it Julz.

hiho: That would be a pretty long journey just for a crepe! It would be worth it, hehe, but I’m sure you have some yummy ones where you live in Australia : ). Thanks for commenting!
