The next route is depend on route which you choose. There are two route commonly used by mountain climbers. The first and most famous is through the Pancasila village, Calabai, Dompu. Another starting point which is relatively less traveled is through the village of Doropeti village, Pekat, Dompu. Usually, the climbers can go up and down through the same pathways and may be also try different route to bring a different atmosphere.

If you will climb Mount Tambora through Pancasila Village route then you have to go to Pancasila Village by bus for 6-7 hours with price around Rp. 35,000 – 40,000 (USD 4-5). This bus usually very crowded, so often the passenger who is sitting on the hood of the bus exceeds passengers in the bus. Similarly, bus from Dompu to Doropeti village also with the same density. Therefore, in order to get a seat on the bus, you should have entered into a bus since the bus first arrived around 7:30 am. Buses will depart at around 8:30 to 9:00 morning.
