Inhaling Caffeine

Different than energy drinks inhaling caffeine is the latest rage. See about it here.
We all have heard of people drinking energy drinks. I have a feeling energy drinks are going to soon be the part of the past. Now there is a caffeine that is inhalable. As of right now it came to be sold last month ony in Massachusetts, New York and you can get some in France.
The FDA is opening an investigation for two things; they are looking to see if the caffeine is a safe thing for people to use and whether it should be classified as a dietary supplement as the maker of the product classified it.
This product is known as earoshot comes in containers that look like a tube of lipstick. The person then puts the end of the tube in their mouth and breathe in and the person will get a mist of fine powder, but don’t worry as the powder quickly dissolves. Each containers contains B vitamins and caffeine equivalent to a large cup of coffee.
The Aeroshot was invented by Harvard biomedical engineering professor David Edwards. Edwards says that the difference between the caffeine invented by him and energy drinks is that energy drinks contain taurine that enhances the caffeine effect.
Because it is marketed as a dietary supplement, it does not need approval by the FDA.
U.S. Senator from New York, Charles Schumer had a meeting with Margaret Hamburg and that led to an agreement that the FDA would look at this new caffeine is safe or even legal.
Charles Schumer said, ” I am worried about how a product like this impacts kids and teens, who are particularly vulnerable to overusing a product that allows one to take hit, after hit, after hit in rapid succession.”

I agree with Chuck Schumer. This could be dangerous for people because there will be some who get too carried away with this idea. Thanks for sharing.
