Salem Massachusetts is one of the best places in the country to be for the Halloween season. This old world city has a reputation for being a place where witches roam and trick-o-treat celebrations abound. Here is some information about the featured events for the Halloween season in this city.
The events that took place in the late 1600’s in Salem has helped to give this city a reputation as one of the best places to be on Halloween. The Salem Witch Trails that took place there at the time is used by the people of Salem to boost up the Halloween season for this town . Salem has plenty of attractions for this holiday season and they begin in October.
Beginning October 1 in Salem is the Salem’s Chamber of Commerce Grand Parade. This parade is the opening event for the month long holiday celebrations that take place in Salem. This is a huge event that attracts nearly all of the residents in the Salem area. Trick-o-treating with the mayor will take place on October 2 at the East India Fountain. You can contact the Chamber of Commerce in Salem to find out more about this event. Pumpkin carving contests will be held on October 17 this year at Pickering Wharf in Salem.
The Salem Witch Museum is a strange place visit but on Halloween it would be the best place to go. This museum is one of the best known places in Salem and many people visit it to learn more about Salem’s past. Salem has another museum that is called the Museum of Myths and Monsters. This museum will educate you about the folklore of monsters and demons while they scare the living mess out of you doing it.
