The Best Vegas Lounge: Mix at Mandalay Bay

For lounge and bar lovers, the best of the ultimate lounges is Mix at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Sleek, sophisticated, with stunning views looking right up the Strip from floor 64 of the Mandalay Bay, Mix sets a new standard for over-the-top for Vegas lounges.
Mix Lounge is ultimate Vegas. Mix has it all, and then some. Absolutely stunning views from the 64th floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel with the entire Strip is at your feet. The decor is sophisticated yet sedate — chrome and black leather seating, low tables, leather couches, and lounge chairs, cozy but elegant, and every table has a beautiful view because the lounge has a tiered table area so no one blocks the view of the Vegas skyline. As if that were not enough, one can soak up the atmosphere on the lounge chairs outside on the deck high above Vegas below. Relax in the desert evening air, sip your favorite cocktail, and immerse yourself in one of Vegas’ most stylish venues.
I did not try the adjacent Mix restaurant, but the look and feel are equally elegant. In the center of the restaurant is a 13,000 bulb chandelier. The restaurant also has a few exclusive tables on an outside patio for an impressive setting for any dinner. After dinner, one could relax at the Mix lounge. On weekends and busy holiday weeks, Mix lounge has a d.j. and music. There is purportedly a cover charge, but I visited on a Sunday evening in mid-summer (Vegas’ quiet season), and not only was there no cover, but there was also no line to get in. The lounge can accommodate 300 patrons. Drinks are about $9 – $12, depending on the evening and the crowd.
Not rowdy, but sleek and sophisticated, Mix offers a visual spectacle. Patrons can enjoy the view from every angle including the restrooms, which have floor to ceiling windows so one is never away from the feeling of being in the clouds.
On busy evenings and weekends at Mix, the tables and lounge area after 10:30 are reserved for those making a reservation for bottle service. Bottle service means that you must order a bottle rather than individual drinks, and if the bottle is hard liquor, then you are often brought a variety of mixes, juices, etc for drinks. The cost varies but can be expensive in the more exclusive clubs. If you have a number of drinks, then bottle service may actually be about the same. The inside and outside tables and outside lounge chairs are the reserved spaces after 10:30. Check with Mix by phone beforehand if you want a table or lounge chairs inside or out, otherwise, you and your party may be standing, and not lounging. Enjoy the views!
