The best visitor attractions located in New Jersey.
This article lists the top visitor attractions or sites to see in New Jersey as determined by AAA. Having driven through every state in the United States and every Canadian Province and Territory (except Newfoundland) I’ve learned that 90% of the Gem Tourist Attractions listed in AAA’s Tour Books are well worth visiting. These are the 14 Gem Sites to see in New Jersey including natural and man-made landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the Great Falls of the Passaic River.
Cape May County Park and Zoo

The Cape May County Zoo has over 200 species of animals from around the world including many endangered species like the Golden Lion Tamarin from Brazil and the Mountain Bongo Antelope from Africa. The park and zoo are open all year except for Christmas and are located off exit 11 on the Garden State Parkway at 707 Highway 9 north.
Grounds for Sculpture

Grounds for Sculpture is a 35 acre sculpture park containing both museums and outdoor exhibits from well known and emerging sculptors on the grounds of the old New Jersey State Fairgrounds site in west-central New Jersey in Hamilton. The park contains an enclosed water garden featuring still and flowing water sculptures. Grounds for Sculpture is open everyday except for Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years and is located at 18 Fairgrounds Road in Hamilton.
Six Flags Great Adventure
Six Flags Great Adventure features three great parks in one place. The Amusement Park contains over 100 thrill rides and includes many world class roller-coaster rides like Kingda Ka which is one of if not the tallest roller-coaster in the world. Hurricane Harbor is a 45 acre water park with with tons of water rides and a 1 million gallon wave pool to keep you cool in the summer. Wild Safari Park is a drive through safari featuring over 1,200 species of animals that you can you see while driving the 4.5 mile road through the 350 acre nature preserve. Six Flags Great Adventure is located in central New Jersey in Jackson one mile off I-195 along CR 537.
