Jorvik Viking Museum

I recently went to the Jorvik Viking Museum… These are my opinions on it!
Just a few days ago I went to the Jorvik Viking Museum. This is the second time i have been this year.
I went there as a family visit with my two aunties and my siblings. The whole ‘Trip’ takes approximately 60-90 minutes to complete and is really enjoyable. However the smell inside the museum is absolutely horrendous! But, let’s not judge the place on the smell…
Once you pay for your tickets you then go underground via the stairs (there is a lift for those less able) at the bottom is a small waiting room where you wait for a ‘time travel’ simulation to take place. After the ‘time travel’ simulation you are greeted by a viking and taken away down a corridor to a set of carriages that take you around a viking village, each person has their own individual audio commentary to accompany them on their journey, i do believe that they have different language packs as well.
After viewing the village you are then ‘transported back into your own time’ and are able to view the assortment of viking tools, weapons, clothing and even skeletons that the museum keeps.
Like i said, the whole day is very enjoyable and the York park and ride bus service take you to within walking distance of the museum! I think that it is however, more suited for the younger audience although adults and teens may enjoy the day as well.
After visiting the museum you may wish to look around york and see many more of its attractions, i hear the dungeons are quite popular, although there is almost always a rather large line to get in.
I strongly recommend the Jorvik Viking museum and if you do choose to visit it then i hope you have Lot’s of fun
Liked it
