For starters a nighttime cruise around the city, where you can relax enjoy dinner and just take in the sites, is an awesome date. If you are one of those who need to be on the go, the Staten Island Ferry is a great way to see the New York City skyline at nighttime, and round trip will take only about an hour.
A ferry rides to Ellis Island, or to the Statue of Liberty is a full day adventure so make the day as simple as possible, take the tour, then go to Little Italy, Chinatown or the South Street Seaport to relax and enjoy dinner. Tomorrow is another day, so if your planning to tour the Big Apple, make a list of things that you would love to see, visit and do, and spread it out so that you don’t overwhelm yourself, and family.
Whether your going to be downtown, midtown, or uptown, each area has a lot of history to be seen, down town there is the Battery Park, mid to uptown there is central park, while up at the very northern part of Manhattan Island you have The Cloisters. So you see there is so much to do and see.
There are tour buses that can take your around, but keep in mind they have a schedule and they want to stick to it as much as possible; which does not give you much time to really see the sites.
There is the Old New York Historical trail which is located downtown, which includes, the South Street Seaport, Wall Street, Federal Hall, and Trinity Church along with its cemetery to name a few sites to see. Many people today go to lower Manhattan to see where the Twin Towers use to stand, and then from there they can take a walk over to the New Financial District, which is like a city within our city. Downtown is the home to the Brooklyn and Williamsburg Bridges; both connect Manhattan with Brooklyn.

Mid town has 34th Street where one can shop until she drops, along with 5th Avenue; there is the Empire State Building, a trip to the top, give you the opportunity to view the city from what ever angle you desire. You can stroll along the Hudson River on the west side, or the East River on the east side of Manhattan. While walking up the eastside you will see the Fifty-ninth Street Bridge; which connects Manhattan to Queens. As you get closer to the Fifty-ninth Street Bridge, you will see the Roosevelt Island Tram, which connect Manhattan to this island between Manhattan and Queens. There are two ways to get to Roosevelt Island, one is the tram, and the other is a bridge located in Queens, in the Long Island City area. If you walk up on the west side, up north you will see the George Washington Bridge.

Central Park is a well-known park, and across from the park on the west side is the Natural Museum of History. This Museum well known if not world famous, many people visit this museum daily. A visit to the park and the museum should really be a one-day event, since there is truly so much to see and do.
Up town, there is the so much more to see, they have the Revolutionary War Trail, located in the area called “Washington Heights”. The tour brings you back to when the Dutch colonist started colonizing here in Manhattan; along the tour there are site such as the Dyckman Farmhouse, Sylvan Terrace, and several other parks. In this area is also the Cloisters which give you’re a great view of the Hudson River.
A trip to The Cloisters should be a one-day event since it is rich with history and so much to see and enjoy.
So come to New York City, its not called the city that never sleeps for nothing.
