The 10 largest cities in the world in terms of population.

1.) Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan’s capital & economic and political centers, is the world’s largest city with an estimated population of 35.1 million. Tokyo is also the world’s most expensive city. In addition, it was also named the third Most Livable City and the World’s Most Livable Megalopolis.

2.) New York

Nicknamed as the “Big Apple”, one of the world’s most popular cities is New York. This city in the United States has an estimated population of 21.65 million. New York City is the 2nd largest city in the world. About 800 languages are spoken in New York City, making it the world’s most linguistically diverse city.

3.) Seoul

Seoul is the capital of South Korea, one of the “4 tiger economies” of Asia (the others are Japan, Taiwan and Singapore). This progressive city is populated by 21.35 million people. Seoul is the world’s 3rd largest city and the 2nd largest metropolitan area in the world.

4.) Mexico City

With a population of 20.95 million, Mexico City is the world’s 4th largest city. It is the city capital of Mexico. This global city is the largest metropolitan area in the Americas and the world’s 3rd largest agglomeration.

5.) Sao Paulo

One of the most important cities in Brazil is Sao Paulo. It is the world’s 5th largest city with a population of 19.9 million. It is also the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere and the most populous city proper in the Americas.

6.) Mumbai

Two of the 10 largest cities in the world are located in the subcontinent of India – Mumbai and Delhi. Mumbai is India’s largest city and the world’s 6th largest with an estimated population of 18.4 million.

7.) Osaka

8.) Delhi

I am claustraphobic.. also terrified of human over population.

I remember flying over Mexico City.. it just went on and on. It made me sad… these cities are monstrocities on the planet.. When will we realize we cannot continue at this pace? Why anyone would want to live in such a concrete world is beyond me.. although I am sure many puzzle why I would want to live in the country.
