I know of many people who long to visit NYC, France, Australia, and all of places that are known to be ‘amazing.’ You may or may not have heard of Asheville, NC, but believe me, it should be on everyone’s ‘Places to Go’ list. Full of artists, hikers, and the occasional tourist, Asheville is rich in it’s own culture. Ranked one of the happiest places in America, I will tell you about all of the must see’s, and must do’s.
Right now, we are in the heart of Downtown Asheville. There is a wide variety of restaurants, but, I’d like to take you to some of the very special ones. If you are in the mood for India, Mela’s is a casual restaurant with great flavours. The ambiance of the building is very nice, and you will feel very comforted. Are you in the mood for a vegetarian meal? The Laughing Seed Cafe, is full of different flavours, and is a must for a vegetarian, or even a vege-loving person. Then there is the Italian, Mexican, Mediterranean, Japanese, Thai, and whatever you can think or desire. Now that our stomach’s are full, lets drive a bit so we can go on an amazing hike through the mountains.
As you may or may not know, Asheville is in the mountains. Whether you are on a date, or just want some fresh air, walking and hiking through these beautiful mountains, will take your breath away, and replace it with wonderful mountain air.
When in Asheville, you mustn’t miss out on the art. There are many stores, art exhibits, and art galleries to visit in Asheville. There is even a museum! Every year, for 3 days during the month of July, there is a big art festival called, ‘Bele Chere’ which features the art of many local, and nearby artists.
If you stay in Asheville for more then one hour, you are bound to see atleast one musician! Whether they’re playing on their drum kit, singing to one of theie favorite tunes, or playing on the guitar, there are always people in Asheville to spread the joy! There are many concerts that frequently occur in Asheville, so keep your ears open!
Have you heard of the Biltmore Estate? This is the largest privately owned house in America! Owned by George Vanderbilt, this 34 bedroom, 43 bathroom house, is a must see! It is on 125,000 acres, and consolidates an amazing garden.
So, next time you start complaining that you don’t have enough money to get out of the country, just remember, Asheville is waiting to embrace you. Better yet, Asheville is waiting to become a part of you.
