Pinehurst, NC is known to be the home of American golf.  If you take a quick drive through the quaint down town of Pinehurst, you can see its history beam through the cracks of it’s ages, of it’s small buildings.  All around this small town, golf courses galore.  Any picky man or woman who golfs has to come to Pinehurst, for the selection is endless. 

In Pinehurst, one of the most famous golf courses awaits you.  It is Pinehurst Number Two.  In 2005, the USGA held it’s second U.S. open there.  With all of this said, if you want to feel like part of history, you should check out Pinehurst.

 For more information about Pinehurst’s history, and golf courses, check out the book, ‘Pinehurst- Home of American Golf’ by Richard Mandell.  In this book, you will learn so much about Pinehurst’s history, you will have to visit. 

 There are many rentals that are always open to rent that are situated right on golf courses.  If you prefer hotels, be sure to check out ‘Pinehurst Resort.’  It is a very historic building, and you won’t want to miss it.

In 2014, Pinehurst will be hosting the U.S. Open Championship, once again.  Maybe you should plan your visit around then.  Sound like fun?
