Best Skiing in the Poconos

A list of the top places to go skiing in Pennsylvania’s Pocono mountains.
Camelback

The Poconos biggest resort it is my personal favorite. While it admittedly suffers from what most places in the east suffer from, extreme icyness, it is not as bad a some. With 33 trails and located in Tannersville with a nice hotel, the Chateau 5 minutes drive away, this is one of the pocono’s most crowded. It’s not unskiiable though the lift lines are long. If you can avoid the high speed lifts and find other ways to the summit you can enjoy the usually empty black trails at the top.
Shawnee

A very skiier friendly setup makes this a good choice. It’s 22 trails are relatively packed, it being one of the favorite resorts of many in the poconos. You may prefer camelback if you need variety because you can get tired of this place pretty quickly.
Blue

With two peaks, Blue can keep you occupied for a while. It has two double diamonds so if you are an expert you can stay occupied and if you are a beginner it has more than enough greens. It has the same number of trails as camelback, 33, so a day at blue is a good day.
Jack Frost

Like Shawnee, Jack Frost has a very easy layout and 30 trails. If you are an expert that will not ski any other type of trail this is for you. 40% of the mountain is expert trails, and there is enough of all other types of trails to keep any other levels of skier entertained.
