Love is always in the air in the Honeymoon Capitol of the World. When trying to impress that special someone, try these romantic date ideas in Niagara Falls.
Horse and Carriage Rides- A moonlit carriage ride past Niagara Falls at night time is the epitome of a romantic date. These horse drawn carriages are available for hire at the base of Murray Hill just adjacent to the Queen Victoria Place Gift Shop. Rates are not cheap and start at 45$ for a 15 minute ride but the view is impressive and the gesture is very romantic. The carriage will take up to six people so if you’re on a group date, this is a very affordable option.
The Skylon Tower-Over 525 ft. high, the Skylon Tower has been a favourite romantic date idea in Niagara Falls for decades. You will be whisked up an outdoor elevator that is affectionately dubbed ‘The Bug’. Once at the top you have your choice of two separate restaurants. The Summit Dining Room offers a view of the Falls which is stunning in the evening or in the day. The fare if buffet and the selections are great!
The Revolving Dining Room at the top of the Skylon Tower has a fine fare menu and the restaurant revolves once per hour. You will also be serenaded by piano during your meal. After dinner, you can ascend to the observation deck to take a look around. It is recommended that you make reservations, as this is a popular dining destination for both tourists and locals alike.
The Fallsview Casino and Avalon Theatre- Great shows are always on the line-up at the Fallsview Casino’s Avalon Theatre. The Avalon is a modest size and therefore every seat is guaranteed to be a good one. Restaurant selections are plentiful at the Fallsview Casino and the shows usually start between 8 and 9 p.m., giving you the option to eat before hand or afterwards.
Clifton Hill- This choice holds more appeal for the younger crowds. Clifton Hill is brimming with things to do. One romantic date idea is to ride the giant ferris wheel on the hill. It is complete with heated compartments and gives you a great view high above the Falls and the Fallsview area. There are also plenty of scary wax museums where you can hold your date tightly. For some playtime, both Boston Pizza and Dave & Busters restaurants offer arcade games and bowling. If you tire of the endless activities on Clifton Hill, you are only a few minutes walk from Queen Victoria Park where you can take a romantic stroll down by the Niagara Falls.
