India, the second most populous country in the world with more than 1 billion people, is a country with diverse culture and breathtaking sceneries. As one of the 10 largest countries in the world in term of area, this country has numerous falls which are perfect tourist attractions.

1.) Courtallam Falls: Tamil Nadu

The breathtaking waterfall on the above photo is one of the 5 waterfalls located in Courtallam. This small town is frequented by hundreds of tourists during weekends and season-time. The place is packed with tourist from June to September. The 3 most popular falls in Courtallam which are accessible via roads are the Main Falls, Five Falls, and Old Courtallam Falls. Shenbaga Devi Falls and Honey Falls can be reached only by trekking on the mountain.

2.) Jonha Falls: Jharkhand

The beautiful Jonha Falls is a hanging valley falls in Ranchi district, Jharkhand. It is situated at an edge of the Ranchi Plateau. The waterfall is 43 meters high. Visitors have to descend 500 steps to admire the beauty of the falls and surroundings. It is also called Gautamdhara Falls.

The falls is also known by a variety of names such as Gerusoppe Falls, Jogada Gundi and Gersoppa Falls.

9.) Rat Tail Falls: Tamil Nadu

Another tall waterfall in India is Thalaiyar Falls. The fall is also known as Rat Tail Falls. This waterfall with a height of 297 meters and offers a panoramic view is located in the Palani Hill of Dindigul District in Tamil Nadu. Rat Tail Falls can be viewed 3.6 km away from the west.

10.) Hebbe Falls: Kamataka

Hebbe Falls is a beautiful waterfall nestled in the middle of a forest in Kamataka, India. It can be reached by walking or by a four-wheeler. This wonderful waterfall is 168 meters in height. Hebbe Falls gushes down in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls).
