CANADA: The land of the Yukon Gold Rush, dog sleigh races, caribou and Mounties is mush more than all of these. The country offers plenty to see including Niagara Falls.
Canada Affair offers Flights from Newcastle Airport to Lester B Pearson Airport in Toronto, Ontario. An air conditioned loop bus service car carries passengers to various hotels in the city.
Delta Chelsea on Gerrand Street West with 1590 rooms, five restaurants and a family pool with a four storey high slide is Canada’s largest hotel. There is an adult’s only spa on the top floor where guests can paddle while enjoying the magnificent views of the city and the CN Tower.
It is close to the huge indoor Eaton Shopping Centre, the Royal Ontario Museum and art Gallery of Ontario. Brave visitors can walk over the two inch thick glass floor of the CN Tower and admire more marvellous views.
It is a 90 minute drive to the Niagara falls on the border, where visitors can land-based vantage points, from a helicopter or from the deck of the Maid of the Mist.
Sainte Maries Among the Hurons, a recreation of a 17th Century French Jesuit Mission to the Huron Indians is a two hour drive from Toronto.
There are day cruises on the Georgian Bay and Severn Waterways.
Flights from Newcastle to Toronto take seven and a half hours and a seven day holiday costs £619 (2009 prices) per person.
