Inauguration Hotel Prices

This article tell about the inauguration prices.

2008 Presidential Inauguration may become a headache for some and for others a piece of cake. The hotel prices have jumped sky high. Those of you who have family members or friends that lives in Washington or surrounding areas, for you this will be a breeze. This will save you money and headaches. Unfortunately, those of us who are hitting empty spaces are facing what I call an inauguration hotel nightmare.

According to AAA some room were normally $99.00 a night. I called the ones that were given to me by AAA. I ran into one that just blew me away, what a surprise I heard in my ears. He quoted me a price of $599.00 a night. I told him that AAA quoted me a price of $99.00 a night and I understood that you may have increased your prices a little, maybe to $150-$250.00 a night and no more than $300.00. The hotel clerks said,” AAA is wrong about their pricings. “Our prices are $599.00 a night for those dates”. My mouth came wide open, so wide that I was very heated with him to hear that about AAA. I said, “How can a business like AAA be so wrong? This is a nation wide company with great respect. How dear you open your mouth and speak about them in that way, you are not a professional person. However; unfortunately you do not value AAA like me other millions of customers.

I continued calling around to the other hotels that were on my list from AAA. A reasonable rate for the Presidential event was out of question. All I came up with were higher prices for the Obama’s Inauguration. These prices seem outrageous. I want to know is any one else running into the same problem. These prices should not be acceptable.

In my research, a great deal on a hotel came to a dead end road.

I can not believe price increases from $99.00 to $599.00 a night. This is ridiculous. I understand this is a great event, but to increase from $99.00 to $600.00 is too expensive. I think an extra $150.00-$200.00 on top of the normal rates and normal hotel. You tell me what you think of the inauguration price increases.

If you are planning to attend this great event, make sure you pack plenty of bottle water and food.
