An Evening in Duvall

Duvall is a beautiful town with pleasant people.
A small charming town 15 miles away from Seattle with a population of just about 5000 people, Duvall was originally called as Cherry valley. Like a piece of cake with a cherry on top, this small town has some of the cream of the country living around here. The weather is probably the only thing gloomy in Duvall. By November, most trees in Duvall stand barren, presenting their unique scale of beauty in the background of deep and thin pine trees. The mist rising from the Snoqualmie River which passes through the valley is a picturesque sight, and the clouds seem to caress the tree tops and quietly merge with the road ahead. The town is more about sights and sounds than any significant architecture. Next to the library, for example, is a book store, and the main attraction there was a sofa made out of old books placed outside the store. The cute little medical centre not so far off, had original paintings of Duvall commissioned to Bruce Edwards and Joan Pinney-the local water color artists’ .The people are educated, peaceful and friendly always ready with a smile and usually taking the initiative in salutations.
The surrounding towns and cities are just as interesting like Redmond (yes the Microsoft City), Bellevue and Everett; each famous for a special achievement .Everett, for example, is the Boeing factory. The largest in the world where all Boeings are assembled under one roof, which is larger than many football fields put together. History tells us that in early 1940’s, when the world was in the midst of World War II ,the residents in this part of the world were busy designing and building planes, with women being fifty per cent of the work force. Like all places heavenly, there are fabulous shopping areas within an hours’ drive of Duvall. Shopaholics can spend hours in stores and the choices are mind-boggling, Bookshops like Barnes and Nobles, Borders and Half-price Books can easily burn a hole in your pocket.
