Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, one of the most beautiful resorts in the U.S., is for adventurous travellers who like mountain biking, parasailing, hiking, scuba diving, hot air ballooning and skiing.
One of my favorite places in Wisconsin is Lake Geneva with its beautiful, clean lake surrounded by hills. The resort is a dream come true for the adventurous traveler.
Water Sports in Lake Geneva
The pristine Geneva Lake offers the excitement of parasailing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and scuba diving The seven-mile long lake has clear, sparkling waters, rich in fish like salmon, tuna, bass, pike, trout, and more. I highly recommend parasailing.
Hiking in Lake Geneva
The Big Foot Beach State Park on the shores of Geneva Lake has 5 miles of hiking trails that take you through meadows and wooded areas full of birds. You can choose your terrain – rolling or flat, soil or grassland, according to your proficiency level.
The Duck Lake Nature Area is a birdwatcher’s paradise. This 2-mile hiking trail on the southern shore of Lake Como, is an invigorating country walk through forests, meadows and brush. It is alive with birds such as finches, thrush, flycatchers and plenty of warblers. It’s also known as “Warbler Walkway.”
The Kettle Moraine State Forest is nature preserve that stretches across 2000 acres. Here you can hike along 80 miles of marked and groomed forest trails.
Lake Geneva – a Mountain Biker’s Fantasy
Rent yourself a mountain bike and see Lake Geneva from a whole new perspective. My second favorite adventure in Lake Geneva (after parasailing), is mountain biking along the numerous bike trails and enjoying the spectacular scenery.
The Emma Carlin Trail in the Kettle Moraine State Forest enjoys the reputation of being one of the finest mountain biking trails in the country. The trail really tests your riding skills with its three different loops. Each loop has varying levels of difficulty and you ride through hardwood forests and open expanses. The shortest loop is the 2 mile red loop and the longest is the 4-mile green loop. Overall, a challenging ride, so make sure you’re fit.

Hot Air Ballooning
The best way to explore the wonders of Lake Geneva is by hot air balloon.
It was the most romantic thing we ever did according to my girlfriend. We sipped champagne among the clouds and marveled at the gem of Lake Geneva below us. Watching the sun rise and sunset from this point of view is a treat you’ll want to repeat.
If you’re looking for adventure, head to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. Go mountain biking, parasailing, hiking, scuba diving, hot air ballooning and skiing in one of the most beautiful pleasure resorts in the country.
