Lake Marie in Wyoming is Your Friend

Another winter wonderland in Wyoming.

Let me tell you of one of the most beautiful lakes in the USA. You see in the picture Lake Marie beneath the snow covered Snowy Range Mountains in Albany county west of Laramie, Wyoming. The elevation is close to 11,000 feet at the peaks and about 8000 feet at lakes edge.
As a young boy my family would go to the snowy range in the middle of July and go tubing, sledding in 12 foot snow drifts. This was so much fun for all of us. I remember Dad sticking bottles of Soda pop in the snow drifts to keep them cold. Now get this.. it was close to 60 degrees. This picture was taken in late summer and there is still snow in abundance. I have heard of pretty nasty winters in this area consisting of 80 mile an hour winds and 6 feet of snow at the minimum.
Please if you ever have a chance to experience Wyoming then be sure and go to Lake Marie. Yeehaw there is good fishing too. See ya soon, Mumbly Joe
